At the beginning of each chapter, a page is decorated with medieval text and drawings. There is a thick ink outline with thin lines for little details for texture.Īs natural as the world looks, the medieval style fits right in. The art has a natural earth color pallet. I like all the little details that make the word gritty. They have a code of honor that will be respected, no matter what. The ferrets appear to be bad and some of them will kill mice. Nothing really deep, just a fun adventure. The Black Axe is a straightforward quest. When you are a little mouse, why not weld a sword for protection? It gives a reasonable challenge for the mice to be so tough. I like how the animals are their actual size in real life. Review: I was right about their being blood, but not for the sake of it. Em with the help of the mouse guard Celanawe set out to find this legendary treasure.
